Obituary of Paul Riopel
Paul Riopel passed away on Thursday November 14, 2024, a month shy of his 50th birthday, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. He is the son of Chris and Abbie Riopel of Lecanto, Florida. He was raised in New Jersey and Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
Paul is the loving husband of Brittany Riopel (Dombrowski). He is predeceased by his father Chris and survived by his wife Brittany, mother Abbie, sister Laura (Justin), nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and great friends.
Paul was an avid fisherman, hunter, cook, carpenter, and so many other things. He had many careers throughout his life including working on fishing boats, delivering oil, home construction and eventually settling into the local 1 elevator union. He found joy in being the master of any task he tackled.
Despite his dislike of sand and the beach, he eventually moved and settled into Breezy Point and joined the Catholic Club pipes and drums band. He found such great joy being a member of the Breezy Community.
He was also a member of the Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club where he shared memories with some of his greatest friends for over 20 years.
Although gone far too soon, the memory of Paul will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered drifting in the sea as he sails off into the sunset.
