Catherine Samuelian

Obituary of Catherine Samuelian

Catherine Samuelian, born in 1935, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the youngest of six children. Married for 53 years to her husband, Mike Samuelian, who predeceased her 13 years ago, they had five children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Catherine loved weak tea, dark chocolate, the Hallmark Channel, and her beloved dog Louie. Always stylish, she dressed with care, down to her seasonally designed fingernails and signature daisy sweaters.

Her professional life included roles as a secretary, cashier at Korvettes’s, paraprofessional for special needs children, and job coach in South Florida, where she helped young people with developmental disabilities.

Known for her generous spirit, Catherine loved entertaining. Her home was warm and welcoming, especially during the holidays. She hosted legendary St. Patrick’s Day feasts with corned beef, cabbage, and homemade Irish soda bread.

She connected easily with people, thoughtfully sending personalized cards, notes and gifts. Her love for simple pleasures, like sending emoji-filled texts and gifs, brought joy to those around her.

Cooking was a special passion for her, and she enjoyed trying new recipes. Her meals, made with love, were cherished by all. Despite her classic recipes, she remained curious and adventurous in the kitchen.

Catherine enjoyed a wonderful second life after retirement in Florida with Mike, surrounded by new friends. After his passing, she found solace in family and friends.

Catherine is survived by her children: Cathy Samuelian, Mark Samuelian, Frank (Patty) Samuelian, Roseann (Frank) Aversa, and Michael (Bob) Samuelian; her grandchildren: Steven (Janice) Samman, Nadia Samman, Nina Samuelian, and Samantha Samuelian; and her great-grandchildren: Caiden Samman and Natalie Samman.

Catherine leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. Her warmth, love, and kindness made the world a better place. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
