My heart goes out to Sal's family on his passing. My husband Jason has been going to Sal for years for haircuts, he was the only barber he trusted. Then we started bringing our 3 small boys, and Sal was the only barber who they felt comfortable with. Such a warm, pleasant way about him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Sal "Rizzo" was my barber for close to 20 years. I've sat in his chair and watched his daughters grow up and then his grandchildren. There was never a day that he didn't have a warm smile on his face. he was always pleasant and was the utmost professional. I never had to tell him how to cut my hair- he just did it. his chair was always full- an with good reason. My heart broke hen I heard of his passing. I will miss your cleaning my ears with your towel and your warm shaving cream my friend. Thank you for all of the most personal of times. I hope your family finds peace that you left so many men such a wonderful impression.

I’ve known Sal now for 37 years he gave me my first hair style at the Hair House in Kings Plaza. Back then that’s what they called it hair style if you finish with a hair dryer your stylin. Next I followed him when he opened his own place in Sheepshead Bay. After that he graciously invited me into his home so I could get my hair cut in his Basement. I hit my head many times on the low sealing I use to tell him he would have to bandage me up instead of cutting my hair. After that he settled down in the Staten Island Mall cutting hair at Beauty Touch. It broke my heart on Tuesday when I was driving to Brooklyn from NJ and I called to stop by the Mall and get a haircut (not a style I don’t have enough hair to style anymore) only to find out I lost a long time good friend. All I know is that when Sal cut my hair for the first time or up to three weeks ago he never rushed my cut even if there were two or three people waiting.
Sal you will be deeply missed.
