Obituary of Martha Allocca
Martha Allocca, age 92, of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at her home in Brooklyn. Born April 26, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Marcotrigiano) Serrone.
Martha was preceded in death by her older sister, Rose M. Podd (Robert), her older brother, Joseph Serrone (Celia Porta Serrone), and her younger brother, Michael Serrone. She also mourned the loss of her nephews, Robert A. Podd Jr. and Richard Serrone, and nieces Patricia (Podd) Radenhausen and Susan (Podd) Barberi.
Martha shared an extraordinary bond with her husband, Francis (Frank) Allocca, celebrating 72 years of marriage this past February. Together, they embarked on life's journey, inseparable companions in every sense.
Known for her profound affection for animals, Martha's love for cats was boundless. She was renowned for her compassion, feeding hundreds of neighborhood cats throughout her lifetime and cherishing her own feline companions. On pleasant days, she delighted in visiting the park to feed the birds, finding solace in nature's embrace.
Martha's heart overflowed with love for her family, and she keenly felt the absence of those who had departed before her. She was a pillar of support, a source of unwavering affection, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Her role as an aunt and great-aunt was cherished, her warmth and kindness leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Martha is survived by loving husband, Francis Allocca, her nephews, Richard Podd and Frank Podd (Maria Lubrano Podd), niece Donna Serrone Fajen, and many great-nieces, nephews, great-great-nieces, and nephews.
