Obituary of Coleen Galdon
Our beloved Coleen “Ernie” passed away on January 9, 2024, in her home in Manahawkin, New Jersey, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Brooklyn, NY where she lived with her parents and six sisters . She graduated from Catherine McAuley High School, class of 1981, where she played basketball and made lifelong friendships. Coleen worked for the United States Post Office for most of her adult years until retiring in 2020, where she also made many great friends. She loved to laugh, sing, and enjoy life. Coleen was always a shoulder to cry on, a confidential listening ear and advice giver. She loved to help people and animals. She opened her home to anyone in need and would be the first to offer help to anyone and everyone. Coleen was such a caring, loving, kind, and selfless person. She loved to travel, cruise, and go to Atlantic City. Her heart belonged to her grandson Kyle and dog Panda. Coleen could make a fun memory out of anything even as simple as going grocery shopping. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Patrick Gallagher, her niece Lori Elizabeth Miller, her nephew Timmy Murray, and sister Patti-Jo Prezioso. She is survived by her daughter Kristie Galdon, son Matthew Galdon, and grandson Kyle Galdon, dogs Panda, Oreo, and Thunder; along with her sisters Betsy Brown, Debbie Murray, Mary Ann Abreu, Twinnie Cathy Miller and Dawn Connett, as well as brother in laws Freddy Brown, Bobby Abreu, Paulie Prezioso, Bobby Miller, and Steven Connett. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and close friends. Coleen always lived, laughed, and loved. She will forever be known as “One in a Million”!
