Obituary of Anthony Nigro
Anthony “Tony” Nigro, 74, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on December 10, 2025. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, miss him fiercely, and fully expect that he’s already eating a delicious macaroni dinner with his parents in Heaven.
Born on December 4, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, Tony was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Anthony Nigro. He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Nigro; his children, Lana and Christian Nigro; and the three grandchildren who lit up his world—Jace, Matteo, and Gia.
Known simply as “Tony” to those closest to him, he spent countless hours coaching T-ball and baseball for his son, and enthusiastically helping his daughter build science fair projects—some of which may or may not have been a little too good for a kid her age.
He was the proudest of grandfathers, famous for showing off photos of the kids to neighbors and strangers alike.
Tony loved the simple joys of life: sitting in the yard working on his tan like it was a competitive sport, Sunday macaroni dinners that brought everyone together, and cheering (and occasionally yelling) at his beloved Yankees and long-suffering Jets. In his younger years, he traveled often and went to concerts with his cousins.
Above all, Tony loved his family—with a loyalty and fierceness that will truly be missed.
The visitation for Anthony Nigro will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2025 9:00 AM at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church. The Commital Service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
