Obituary of Bruce F. Schalk

Bruce F. Schalk, 78, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025. Mr. Schalk was born December 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Harold and the late Bertha (nee Kubat) Schalk.

He is survived by his devoted wife Claire (nee Leto) Schalk.

Cherished father of Patricia Schalk and Erika Kleid (Michael.)

Beloved pop pop to Cassandra and Makenzie.

A proud Army veteran, and retired FDNY firefighter, Mr. Schalk lived his life with quiet strength, unwavering loyalty and a heart that was always ready to help others. He could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, on the golf course perfecting his swing, or enjoying a good game of bowling. He was a true jack of all trades, a handyman whose talents seemed endless, and someone everyone knew they could count on.

A brother, uncle and friend, Mr. Schalk will be missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be Sunday, November 30 from 2:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, December 1 at Resurrection R.C. Church, 2331 Gerritsen Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.

Cremation to follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
